Medicare is health insurance available to people in the US age 65 or older.  Individuals under the age of 65 with certain disabilities and may qualify for Medicare, along with people diagnosed with permanent kidney failure or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.  Medicare benefits include senior health care and prescription coverage.

Medicare has 4 programs:

• Medicare Part A: Hospital Coverage
• Medicare Part B: Medical Plan Coverage
• Medicare Part C: Advantage Plan
• Medicare Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage

Medicare Part A: Hospital Coverage covers hospital, skilled nursing home, hospice and home health care.

Medicare Part B: Medical Plan Coverage helps cover medical visits and preventative care.

Medicare Part C: Advantage Plans are offered by private health insurance companies.

Medicare Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage helps cover prescription drugs.
