In a comfortable position with good posture take a slow, deep breath through your nose to the count of five. Hold your breath for another count of five. Then exhale through your mouth to the count of five. Repeat.

Another breathing exercise is sitting quietly and observing your breathing. Let thoughts enter and leave your mind continuing to focus on your breathing. Tense and then relax the muscles in you hands, fingers, arms, neck. Stretch your arms up and around. Bend from your waist. Pull your knees toward your chest while seated and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat several times with each leg.
